Roof replacement can be a messy job at times. Although contractors should take every precaution there is to prevent property damage, many of them don’t. It could be a dent in the siding, damage to the shrubbery, or even a bunch of broken flower pots. When it does happen, you have to talk to the contractor and hope he fixes what he broke or at the very least pays for the damages. The whole thing can be very distressing, to say the least.

The Problem with Regular Roofing Jobs
For most local roof repair contractors, the go-to method to avoid property damage is to cover anything and everything that could be damaged by shingles and debris. This means covering the lawn and shrubbery with a tarp and using sheets of protective wood against the house, stairs, rails, porch, deck, and so on.

While these are reasonable precautionary measures, they are simply not enough in most cases. Even if you cover up everything you can with tarp and plywood, there are so many things that could go wrong. The heavy equipment used by the contractor could damage your driveway and lawn. The workmen could accidentally drop a shingle on the AC unit and smash it in. You can easily think of a dozen similar scenarios.

So, What Is the Solution?
The best way to avoid these problems in the first place is to choose a roofing contractor who knows how to avoid property damage while installing a new roof. Luckily for those in the Adams, Cumberland, and York County area, there is a great choice available when you use DePalma Construction.

We have been in the roof replacement business for more than 17 years and know the ins and outs of roofing like no other. We understand the importance of protecting your property during roof installation and replacement, and we go above and beyond what contractors normally do to prevent any sort of damage to your house, lawn, or garden.

How Do We Do It?
At DePalma Construction we have found a highly effective solution to avoid property damage during roof replacement – the Equipter RB4000. It is an innovatively engineered roofing trailer that we use to avoid any sort of damage to your property while we install or repair your roof. It is an amazing machine that makes our job a lot easier by preventing debris build up on the ground and drastically reducing the need for manpower.

So, what makes the Equipter RB4000 so special? Let’s take a look.

No Marks on Your Lawn
One of the problems with the heavy equipment used by roofing contractors is that it leaves tread marks and ruts on the lawn. The RB4000, on the other hand, causes no such issues. It has extra wide tires, and its weight is evenly distributed, so it does not leave any marks on your lawn.

Easy to Maneuver
The RB4000 is self-propelled and can be driven around without being attached to a truck. The tight turning radius makes it easy to drive around even in places where a regular truck cannot pass through.

12-Foot Lift
This is perhaps the most important reason why we use the RB4000 for our roofing jobs. As you know, a regular dumpster can easily damage your driveway or lawn. So, most contractors usually park it away from the roofing site. They remove the shingles and roofing debris, drop them onto the tarp, put everything in a wheel barrow, and then drop it into the dumpster.

The problem with this process is that it takes way too much time and requires lots of manpower. Not to mention the fact that the workmen could end up damaging your property while dropping the debris onto the lawn. The RB4000, with its 12-foot lift, eliminates all of these problems in a single step.

Here’s how it works… during roof replacement we place the Equipter as close to your property as possible, lift it all the way up, and drop the debris directly into it. Once it is full, we drive it over to the dump truck and dump the debris. It eliminates the risk of the debris accidentally falling on your property and damaging it. It also makes the whole process a lot faster, which is one of the reasons why we can complete most of our re-roofing jobs in just one day.

Clean Site
Since the debris is dumped directly into the Equipter, you will not find the whole place covered in old shingles and nails, which is usually the case with most other contractors. Your property will look the same before, during, and after our roofing job.

4-Foot Roll-Back This is yet another cleverly engineered feature that helps us avoid any sort of damage to your shrubbery and landscaping. The 4-foot roll-back feature allows us to place the container up and over the shrubbery. It makes it possible for us to focus on our roof installation job rather than worrying about accidentally damaging your favorite flower pots and plants.
